The Kagadi District Education Department, led by Acting District Education Officer Ms. Beatrice Mbabazi, convened a preparatory meeting for Term II, 2025, on May 21, 2025. The meeting brought together Headteachers from Government-aided Primary Schools to strategize for the upcoming term.

Commitment to Education
Ms. Mbabazi expressed her appreciation for the Headteachers’ dedication to improving education quality, strengthening school management, and ensuring a safe learning environment. She commended their efforts in Term I, despite challenges such as limited resources and absenteeism.

Term II Calendar
The Acting DEO reminded Headteachers that Term II begins on May 26, 2025, and ends on August 22, 2025. She urged them to conduct opening meetings, maintain school compounds, and post important notices.

New Appointments and Transfers
Ms. Mbabazi announced the posting of newly appointed staff, including Inspectors of Schools, Headteachers, and Education Assistants. She also noted that some staff had been permitted to retire early, and caretaker Headteachers had been appointed.

Implementation of Assessment Recommendations
The Acting DEO emphasized the importance of implementing recommendations from the Office of the Prime Minister’s assessment. This includes conducting support supervision, submitting attendance reports, and maintaining environmental protection measures.

Planning and Reporting
Headteachers were requested to develop School Improvement Plans, display UPE releases, and ensure teachers prepare scheme of work and lesson plans. They were also encouraged to establish nutrition committees and demonstration gardens.

Headteachers’ Welfare
Ms. Mbabazi thanked the Mabaale zone Headteachers for initiating a SACCO and encouraged others to follow suit. She also emphasized the importance of Centre chairpersons managing funds at the centre level to support Headteachers and teachers.

The meeting served as a platform for reflection, planning, and strategizing for a successful Term II.
